Telkom week 1997 was a great success for our design office. A total fleet of 75 boats

participated in the event, divided over several classes ranging from high level racing in the IMS division to straight forward fun in the twilight section. (Those yachts normally only participating in the Wednesday night races. -> No spinnakers but lots of buddies and drinks).

The IMS class was drilled this year by our MOUNT GAY 30 One Design. With 5 boats participating there was simply no room for anybody else. The SMG's took the first 4 places in this division. The biggest class in the event was the PHRF division where our "classic" the Simonis 35 "Megafreight" managed a respectable second place.
