Yachting World H30

The skelatal structure has
been tagged together and some
of epoxy filleting has taken
place, firming up the whole
assembly

Other boats in the Prefix® range are
built in such the same way, with laser-cut
structural components making it reasonably
straight forward to set up ready for planking.
In the case of the H35, here and the H30, the
hull shell is planked using the Speed Strip
system, and glass sheathed for durability.
Note the keel bearing structure is a solid
glass/epoxy sub-assembly, laminated against
a Prefix® jig.

All the planks have been pre-spiled
on the computer and laser cut to fit
precisely, with no adjustment required.
The finished hull shape shows no hint
of its plywood origin.

The H35 "Havoc" is a CHS/IMS cruiser/racer
which has displayed a race winning potential
from the very first day. In a windy Round the
Island Race the Prefix® built 35 footer
finished fifth out of 35 boats, without
having sailed until the day of the race.
