Intro
Since 1884, Beneteau has been building boats. Three generations later, the passion is still intact, and every Beneteau is designed and built to last: meeting the strictest of standards, every Beneteau yacht benefits from the knowledge of a world market leader, the experience acquired on all the seas of the globe as well as the services of a design office for whom every detail is of the utmost importance.
IMAGINE THE EXCEPTIONAL... AND MAKE IT A REALITY
This was the brief governing the design and manufacture of the First 47.7. By once again combining Beneteaus wealth of knowledge and experience with the talent of Bruce Farr, this 47-footer was duty bound to be an exceptional yacht: mission accomplished!
From its moulded structure to its appendages, from the cabinetwork to the deck plan, from the steering system to the sail plan and rigging, everything has been designed in spirit with the desire of making the First 47.7 an indisputable reference in the world of cruiser racing and offshore cruising.
It can be said that Beneteaus association with its clients and Farr Yacht Design often now assumes aspects of complicity...

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
The moulded structure of the First 47.7 has a number of advantages: providing a proper framework for the boat, it perfectly distributes the stresses of the rigging, keel and rudder throughout the hull. Laminated and bonded to the hull, it also guarantees that the bilges are easy to maintain and its ingenious design allows for the bulkheads of four different types of interior layouts to be accommodated.
The ergonomics of the cockpit and deck plan of the First 47.7 brilliantly reflect the extensive experience acquired by the architect and the yard in the field of cruiser racing. The crew will appreciate the arrangement of the winches and jammers, whether on the "cruising" or "racing" versions of the First 47.7.
In addition to the ergonomics and elegance, the technology used also has to be equal to its promises, which is why the best brand names in the world have contributed towards developing this exceptional yacht: Lewmar, Sparcraft, Harken...
A FEEL OF THE HIGH SEAS
Sailing also means living on board. Whatever your choice of accommodation, the First 47.7's saloon benefits from natural indirect lighting through a long porthole fixed on the coachroof and a dining table that is adjustable when heeling. On either side of the saloon, the two cupboards following the curved shape of the settees create an appreciable volume of storage space.
Whatever the configuration chosen, the galley is fitted with a twin-burner oven, 12-volt refrigerator and separate ice box. It also has a large area of laminated work space, numerous large cupboards and a cutlery drawer. And throughout the First 47.7, the calculated volumes and tight curves join forces with the natural light from the portholes and deck hatches to create this inimitable ambience associated with the large Firsts.
The superb cabinetwork of the First 47.7 is available in four different versions of accommodations: it's up to you! The owner's version offers you a large double aft cabin with en-suite bathroom in order to make maximum use of the hull's volume, whilst the second bathroom, is situated in front of the owner's forward cabin. Then there are the 3 and 4 cabin versions, with an L-shaped galley located to starboard or laterally to portside in the saloon, according to your preference. An important detail: in order to completely protect the cabinetwork from any possible dampness, all of the fronts in the First 47.7's saloon are fixed onto anodised aluminium frames.
LIFE ON BOARD
The aft bathing platform is integrated into the transom by means of a block and tackle system concealed m the aft locker. It is sufficiently large to be used for easy boarding (or diving purposes), and is attractively covered in teak.
Besides any potential rating benefit, the First 47.7's high freeboard has a dual purpose: the resultant headroom not only assures great comfort but also allows the yacht to have a relatively narrow coachroof, thereby creating wide side decks. The crew can therefore move quickly around on deck in total safety.
ELEGANCE AND EFFICIENCY
The slot in the bottom of the cockpit allows a large diameter wheel to be installed so that the helmsman, when sitting on the coaming bench, can quickly check the headsail trimming. The steering wheel column accommodates the onboard electronics on either side, with the result that they can be read quickly and easily.
