London based AboarD.com international boating portal announces the opening of a new commercial and support office in mainland Spain that will also be responsible for the Balearics and South of France markets.

Since the introduction of the Boat-Finder last year the AboarD service has attracted over 100 new companies with particular interest coming from large European brokers such as Marítimo Yachts (España), Sunseeker Sales London (UK, France, Monaco, Turkey), AB Yachts (Francia, Alemania, España), Daulphin Yachts (España), FastNet (Irlanda), Webber & Odenwal (Alemania), Network Yacht Brokers (UK).

Several other companies and broker's networks are currently testing the next generation technologies that combine the seamlessly integration of the Boat-Finder with the client’s website and their local or server hosted databases.

The new office is based in Madrid but with strong connection with the Balearics and France. AboarD presents the new boat-finder.com, a multi-lingual remote "On-line Boat Listing System"

It allows boating companies to integrate the boat listing in their own web site, thus effectivelly providing a "Remote Management System" for their boats allowing them to translate them into several languages.

Visitors of the site can choose the language and the currency to use when searching for a boat. The user can also change the layout of the searches and filter by location, price, etc..

After 2 years collaborating with the BiblioTech Team, AboarD's founder and Managing Director, Mauricio GARCIA PONTE has bought back the company in a move intended to push forward the development of the Nautical Portal.

BiblioTech will keep a share in AboarD's capital and will continue to provider Internet services to AboarD. AboarD will run their operation within BiblioTech's London premises acting as a separate corporate entity.

Independent Search Engine Survey places AboarD number 3 World Wide

UK based yachting web site AboarD (www.aboard.co.uk) storms to third place in a recent Independent Search Engine Survey measuring search engine visibility and online exposure for the yachting and marine industry.

AboarD was the sole non-US web site to be listed in the top 30. San Francisco-based Internet research company 30K Media, Inc. compiled the research in September 2000. AboarD listed in the top 10 with leading search engines such as Alta Vista, Google, Excite, Lycos, and Yahoo. The high listing in the survey indicates the level of activity and traffic on the web site, making the third-place ranking even more remarkable when considering the huge marketing and development budgets employed by the US companies.

Mauricio Garcia Ponte, Director of AboarD said: "The boating industry is a very competitive field, with companies investing millions of pounds to reach a very desirable target audience. We created appealing content and were very efficient at marketing to build traffic and justify our ranking. The remarkable part is when you compare our budget to that of US companies.
